Western Gypsies hail from Gulfport, FL, performing gypsy jazz standards and original acoustic compositions. Ashton Farner and Matt Frick are impressing the local Jazz community, creating a high-powered acoustic experience since 2022. The duo first met as students of Josh Hindmarsh from Hot Tonic. They quickly became great friends and were inspired to play the music and styles of Django Reinhardt. Matt Frick’s influences of bluegrass and advanced rhythms mix well with Ashton Farner’s advanced jazz guitar styles. Music aficionados recently enjoyed a memorable acoustical experience with their Full band at Sunshine Getdown Festival.
BREAKING NEWS: WG is hitting the road to key west this March and will be playing a bunch of shows at Blue Heaven, Andy’s Cabana and Big Pine Key RV resort. Check our schedule and come say hi!!!
